This spring, the renovated sports hall at Otočec Hotels, where high-flying names have been hosted and world-class tennis tournaments have been held, was the venue of the most important table tennis event in the country – the 15th international Slovenian open championship in table tennis, the ITTF Challenge – Slovenia Open.
According to the organisers, the event was marked by many accomplishments. The prize fund was $35,000, with 340 players coming from 47 countries, playing almost 700 matches.
The Otočec Sports Centre was selected by the Slovenian Table Tennis Association to hold its training. They chose Otočec for the wide range of sports facilities it offers and the pristine natural surroundings.
