Satisfied with the contents as well as organization of the 34th annual congress ESRA, which took place from 5 to 9 September, 2015 at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, organized by the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy and Kenes International, 1336 participants from all over the world left Ljubljana. This was another global congress of the year in Slovenia hosted by the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

In 2010, Kenes International, one of the largest organizers of global medical congresses, brought to the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre the congress on autoimmune diseases which was, due to the number of participants, also awarded the title ‘congress of the year’.

Why did Kenes International again choose the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre?

The Kenes team is very pleased as well as excited to be returning to the beautiful and inviting city of Ljubljana. As professional conference organizers, we value the relationship with our trusted local partner, the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, who will work closely with Kenes to ensure that all of our delegates needs are met. With the GR team by our side, we are guaranteed a high level of service and support that will make the event a great success. The GR provides us with unmatched value for conference services,” Shoshana Hofmann explained Kenes’ decision in the beginning of 2015.

Although this year anaesthesiologists met on European level, participants came from 71 countries from all over the world. The congress was organized by the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy (ESRA) in collaboration with the local association. ‘Organization of such congress is a great recognition for anaesthesiologists in Slovenia,’ said Prof. Dr. Vesna Novak Jankovič, MD, PhD, head of the clinical department for anaesthesiology and intensive therapy in surgery at the University Clinical Centre in Ljubljana and president of Slovenian Society for anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, for a leading Slovenian newspaper.

What about the organizer’s comment after the congress?

“It has been a pleasant experience being in Ljubljana and working with the GR. The professional approach, the good facilities, the cooperation and professionalism of the staff has been all in all a good experience. We will continue the collaboration between us and hope to have more business together in the near future,” said Avital Rosen, AVP, Client Accounts, Kenes International.

Among the reasons why the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre is great venue for medicinal congresses, are the multi-functional halls which are perfectly suited for exhibitions. The exhibition of apparatus and devices for anaesthesia etc., which accompanied the conference part of the congress, was set up in Kupola Hall of the GR.
