Yes, meetings do matter!

We can all openly acknowledge the significance of the meetings industry and its influence on our world. But what would you say if the congress actually affected the lives of thousands or a nation? EUPSA 2015, the 16th European Congress of Paediatric Surgery, which took place at the CD Congress Centre Ljubljana from 17 till 20 June, did just that. Owing to the efforts of the charismatic and dedicated congress chairman, Prof. Silvo LIPOVŠEK, MD, representative for Slovenia in WOFAPS and FEBPS, the paediatric surgery in Slovenia has just recently been recognised as a specialisation in paediatrics, not merely in surgery as before. The CD Congress Centre Ljubljana has been involved in the EUPSA annual congress preparation since 2010 and has proudly witnessed Prof. Lipovšek’s endeavours for this field of medicine to be recognised.

After the event had been successfully implemented, Ms. Gaia Tamaro from EUPSA Secretariat commended the congress Centre: “The venue is very well organised. I had a real good impression already the first time I visited it and I have to reconfirm it. Spaces are very comfortable and modular, which is very important. Rooms are well equipped and this is immensely important in events like scientific congresses. I absolutely like the Centre’s position in the middle of the city centre: this makes it very easy for people to come and go without transportation…”
