2020 Brings New Flights to Ljubljana Airport

In the summer timetable 2020, starting on March 29, 2020, the Ljubljana Airport will offer some new flight connections. The Ukranian aircraft carrier Windrose Airlines will be the first of the newcomers to establish a Ljubljana – Kiev connection, starting on April 30, 2020.

British Airways to Increase its Summer London Heathrow – Ljubljana Route

British Airways will run its seasonal London Heathrow – Ljubljana route from two to four weekly flights and extend the season from May till September 2020. Flights to Ljubljana will run Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 22 May to 25 September 2020. Flights will be operated by British Airways with the A320 airbus which can seat up to 180 passengers.

Iberia to Fly to Ljubljana Next Summer

Spain’s national carrier Iberia announced seasonal flights between Madrid and the Slovenian capital. Iberia will run four weekly services to Jože Pučnik Airport starting July 28, 2020, for a period of five weeks. Flights will operate each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with a mix of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, which have the capacity to seat 141 and 180 passengers respectively. This comes after the collapse of national carrier Adria, which used to have connections with both Barcelona and Madrid. Other airlines, like Air France, Aeroflot, British Airways and Montenegro Airlines are expected to double their flights next summer.

Ukrainian Windrose Airlines will establish a flight connection between Ljubljana and Kiev

Windrose Airlines had planned to set up a Ljubljana – Kiev air route as early as December 2019, but eventually decided to wait for the summer season. The flights will start on April 30, 2020, connecting Ljubljana and Kiev twice a week (on Tuesdays and Sundays). A 50-seat Embraer E145 aircraft is scheduled for flight.

A new flight connection between Ljubljana and Tel Aviv arrives this April

Israir Airlines is the latest to announce its arrival in Ljubljana as part of the 2020 summer season. The Israeli air carrier will start a scheduled flight that will include three flights in April, then continue with two flights a week from 23 May to 13 October 2020.

Finnair to relaunch flights between Ljubljana and Helsinki

According to website Uporabna stran, Finnair returns to Ljubljana Airport with the Ljubljana – Helsinki flight timetable 2020 (30 March to 24 October 2020). Slovenia and Finland will be even better connected with the upcoming summer season, as Finnair will also offer daily flights during the high season.

Turkish Airlines to Boost Flights Between Ljubljana and Istanbul

In 2020, Turkish Airlines will boost its service between Ljubljana and Istanbul. This represents a 20 % increase compared to 2019, giving passengers better availability and connectivity. As in 2019, they will also fly the wide-ranging Airbus A330 aircraft for up to 280 passengers in some of the most desirable terms next year.

The promotion of Slovenia as an airline destination is one of the key elements and strategic orientations of Slovenian tourism. Subsequently, the competent institutions will continue to promote Slovenia related to the establishment of new air connections in foreign markets as well as the increase of frequencies of existing air routes.
