“Only good stories survive” is this year’s slogan of the 25th Slovenian Advertising Festival which will once again unite the experts and creators from Slovenian advertising world. And since the SOF is celebrating its quarter of a century existence it seems they have been providing some really exceptional festival stories over the past 25 years.
The story is essential ingredient of every good advertising campaign and it is also the key component that guarantees the campaign’s undeniable success. “But even a really good story will not always achieve the desired effect, if it does not have the correct media, therefore a skillful storyteller who knows how to tell an interesting story to the right audience at the right time” said this year’s festival president, the Director of Marketing sector at Delo d.d., Dolores Podbevšek Plemeniti. She also emphasized the importance of personal relationship in every successful business story, especially in advertisement, where the right content and the right message are best transmitted in a “people to people” approach. Therefore according to Mrs Podbevšek Plemeniti socializing is one of the most efficient methods to attract a potential client, since different advertising practices, experiences and opinions are shared at the same time in an informal and personalized environment.
This year’s Slovenian advertising festival also brings a few changes. For starters the entire event is relocated to a new location, the Hotel Kempinski in Portorož (in previous years the festival was organized at the Grand Hotel Bernardin, Portorož ), which opened its doors exclusively for this occasion. Also the competition program received a slight twist, offering all applicants 13 upgraded competitive categories, including two new categories; the Grand Prize for social good (in this category the best communications solution requested by a non-profit, non-governmental or governmental organization are awarded for contributing to global social good) and acknowledgements for artisanal excellence and achievements in the field of photography, illustration, directing audiovisual ads, audio ads, copyrighted music and screenwriting.
