The Local Food Chain, a project of CVB Bled

The chain of local products from local farms and local artisans has been developed last year under the “Local Selection” brand of Tourism Board with selection of local grocery specialties. In the heavy times of the pandemics, local farmers around Bled opened the doors and started with delivery services to customers with fresh farmers’ produces. Fresh salad, cheese, fresh milk, honey and lately strawberries were at your door within few hours by the farmer’s delivery. It has not just lifted the moral and the spirit of local people but mostly it has evolved into a strong chain of providers which the Bled Convention Bureau will lead as project for this year. The idea is to start with the “Local Food Chain” for hoteliers to have fresh and local ingredients for their hotel kitchens. The aim is to re-establish the local economy quickly, but above all for our guests to have a taste of fresh and local produces straight from the local producers.
