In the first half of the year, Cankarjev dom, Cultural and Congress Centre Ljubljana has hosted as much as ten internationally renowned scientific and professional meetings. The 21st Congress of the European Society of Sexual Medicine has attracted a great interest. From 14th to 16th February, the nearly a thousand experts from around the world from 63 countries attendeed this event in Slovenia.
Gabrijela Simetinger, MD, the Slovenian Section for Sexual Medicine, said that the organizing committee decided to choose Cankarjev dom as a venue of the 21st ESSM congress because Cankarjev dom is the only institution in Slovenia that can meet the requirements for organizing such a large congress on this scale: “From previous experiences we know that Cankarjev dom does not disappoint.” The purpose of the ESSM Congress itself, she added, is “to remind the general public of their right to sexual health on the one hand, on the one hand, to remind experts on their behalf the obligation to provide this right to people, as well as their ethical and legal duties in the implementation of sexual medicine.”
When national meetings are concerned, Cankarjev dom also hosted the 7th Slovenian Conference on Treatment of Dependency, 21st Schtott’s Day and XXXVII. Edition of pediatric postgraduation courses – Dercevi dnevi. The team of the first congress organiser in the country successfully contributed to the birth and implementation of the 1st FIT4KID international scientific conference, which interdisciplinary approached to new ways of teaching. The knowledge and experience gained are valuable for the development of the national and international schooling system. The key-note speakers were outstanding world authorities such as prof. dr. Manfred Spitzer, prof. dr. James A. Levine and dr. Carla Hannaford.
The recognition of long-standing efforts of CD’s work in the field of international market, without a doubt, are successfully implemented meetings such as the World Construction Forum, the 14th European Meeting for Peritoneal Dialysis and the Hope Agora 2019.
