The traditional season for congresses and various meetings continues at Cankarjev dom – CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, where high-profile meetings are in full swing and extend deep into the summer.
During the 22nd edition of the European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES), held from May 7th to 9th, 842 trauma and emergency surgeons from around the world gathered at Cankarjev dom. After a 17-year gap, the Slovenian members of the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES) once again successfully hosted the event in Ljubljana. In 2006, trauma surgeons decided to collaborate with emergency surgeons, leading to the establishment of ESTES as a comprehensive organization and a platform for exchanging knowledge, expertise, and experiences among surgeons from different European countries.
Soon after, another significant scientific meeting took place at Cankarjev dom from May 24th to 27th. This was the 35th European Academy of Childhood Disability Annual Meeting (EACD 2023) with the theme “Smarter Goals for a Better Future.” Its aim was to emphasize the importance of goal setting in all aspects of care during the rehabilitation of children and youth.
In addition to these events, Cankarjev dom was host to the 3rd Cycle Module 1 of the European Course in Head & Neck Neuroradiology, the 40th Postgraduate Course in Paediatrics with international participation known as “Derčevi dnevi”, and the 10th Slovene Drug Addiction Treatment Conference.
Cankarjev dom is committed to implementing events and meetings with green and sustainable practices to raise awareness of these topics in our society. For the 15th consecutive year, the exhibition “The Charm of Wood” was held at Cankarjev dom, dedicated to Slovenia’s abundant natural resource: wood. The ISPIM Innovation Conference 2023, with a focus on Innovation and Circular Economy, engaged nearly 600 innovation professionals from academia, industry, consulting, and the public sector from 4th until 7th June.
Vibrant corporate events are a distinctive feature of Cankarjev dom. Among them, the Hyla World Conference 2023 stands out, successfully extending from the renowned Gallus Hall and other venues of Cankarjev dom to various locations in Ljubljana.
