The 17th SEMPL, the annual Media Trends Conference, took place from the 26th till 27th November in Grand hotel Bernardin, Portorož. The conference organized by Media Pool, one of the largest media lessees in Slovenia, hosted more than twenty renowned international speakers who focused on current trends in media, communication and marketing. Portorož with Grand hotel Bernardin again hosted the event and offered special accommodation and spa offers for all attendees.
In two days, more than 900 participants followed the event, of which approximately a third came from other countries in the Adriatic region, mainly Serbia and Croatia. Through the lectures and workshops, more than twenty international speakers revealed the trends prevailing in the media and communications industry, in large part driven by new digital technologies and solutions.
Renowned lecturers like Les Binet from an award winning London creative agency Adam & Eve DDB, Cathey Armillas,US expert marketing strategist, dr. Max Mckeown, British strategy and innovation expert, writer, consultant and researcher and Mats Persson, COO of Adform from Denmark took the stage. The main program of SEMPL was accompanied by five workshops: How to set up an effective mobile advertising campaign, Google Tag Manager workshop, Advanced Facebook advertising for brand managers, Become a LinkedIn’s All Star and 10 rules of effective TV advertising.
In scope of SEMPL, a competition SEMPLER that awards media achievements of the year took place. From among 34 shortlisted entries, the Sempler Awards Jury chose the best media strategies in the region and presented nine Golden Semplers and the Grand Sempler. The winner of the highest award, Grand Sempler, is the advertising agency Imago from Croatia for “A consonant for Life”, created for a Croatian Association Transplant.
