New Adria Airways scheduled service between Maribor and London

Representatives of Adria Airways, Aerodrom Maribor and London Southend Airport presented the new Adria Airways scheduled service between Maribor and London. Starting on 1 June 2015, Adria Airways will operate three flights a week between Maribor and London Southend.

Flights are on sale from 30 March, with prices starting from €69 return including taxes. Adria CEO Mark Anžur underlined the importance of this new connection for the capital of Slovenia’s north-eastern Štajerska region: “We are very pleased that Adria Airways and Maribor Airport have established a scheduled service to London. This is extremely important both for the local community and for the wider region. Adria Airways plans to offer one-way and return flights from Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport at very competitive prices. We are counting above all on passengers from Maribor, Graz, Ljubljana and Zagreb, and of course from London.”

This regular service from Maribor offers new opportunities and is extremely important for the region – for its development and for the possibilities it offers. According to Marko Gros, the Director of Aerodrom Maribor, the long-term success of the project will also depend on good cooperation between the local community and national tourism organisations. “Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport is ready to receive passengers from all over the world and to provide them with a high-quality service. We are very proud of our infrastructure and our staff. That is why we hope that the tourism industry and the local communities of the entire region will see this cooperation as a long-term opportunity. The long-term success of a project of this kind depends on all of us.”

London Southend Airport Chief Commercial Officer Roger Clements expressed his satisfaction at the new service: “We are absolutely delighted that Adria Airways has chosen London Southend Airport above all the other London airports. We look forward to a great partnership that will offer passengers the opportunity to enjoy the attractions of London and, in the other direction, to discover the beauties of the Maribor area and the rest of Slovenia.” Mr Clements also had some good news for the first passengers to use the new service between Maribor and London: »For the first two months (June and July), every passenger arriving at London Southend will be offered a complimentary train ticket to central London.”
