Vipava Valley and Nova Gorica - The paradise valley is real

The fertile Vipava Valley, protected on one side by tall plateaus and on the other surrounded with gentle winegrowing hills, to the west opens up into the plains of the cross-border Goriška. The valley charms with the beauty of its natural phenomena, thrilling lovers of outdoor activities and fascinating all with its unique wines and outstanding cuisine. Next to the curious delta spring of the River Vipava in the eponymous town known for its many bridges, travellers can explore the famous remnants of the Roman Castra fort in Ajdovščina, the medieval walled town Vipavski Križ, typical Vipava Valley villages and, biggest among its numerous castles, the Rihemberk Castle. The Vipava Valley, a long overlooked pearl of tourism, is now among Slovenia's most hip destinations.

Nova Gorica, a city without boundaries

Right by the border with Italy, near Gorizia, the young city of Nova Gorica grew after the Second World War, vibrant with parks, roses and youthful energy. Decades later the border has been erased, the two Goricas now joined in a friendly conurbance of twin cities enriched by two languages and two cultures. With its tightly knit cross-border cooperation, the contemporary Goriška region is developing a new, emerging space of cohabitation in Europe. The two Goricas jointly received the title of the European Capital of Culture 2025. Nova Gorica is also a city of entertainment and nightlife. Two amusement parks, casinos and many gaming salons with attractive shows and the latest slot machines give the city a special vibe.

Conference and event venues

Nova Gorica offers a variety of venues that are highly flexible. With its hotels and restaurants, the city's leading venue provider is Hit Group, while conference halls are also available at the Chamber of Handicrafts and the Cultural Centre. The modern venues offer top of the line technology, admitting between 15 to 364 visitors.

If you have special experiences in mind, the city also offers spaces for custom events indoors or outdoors. Squares and platforms, amphitheatres at the Perla Resort, the parking lot of Hotel Park and the hall of the Slovenian National Theatre Nova Gorica are some examples of alternative venues. MICE events can also be organized by combining great dispersed locations such as wine cellars, gourmet restaurants, castles, train rides and more.

Accommodations

There are nine hotels in Nova Gorica, together offering 411 rooms or 1.001 beds. Including the Youth Hostel and the garni hotel Presta, the total number of beds in the city is 1.557. All the accommodations are relatively close to the city centre and all the congress venues.
