The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes the Tourism Panel at the 17th Bled Strategic Forum. It will take place on Tuesday, 30 August 2022 at Grand Hotel Toplice.
This year’s tourism panel will be held under the title ‘Instability as the only constant’, and the entire Bled Strategic Forum will also focus on the changing situation in the world. Tourism is recovering fast after the covid-19 pandemic, we can see a strong desire to travel, but despite this, the sector is facing new global threats.
Good forecasts and prospects were interrupted in the spring by the war in Ukraine, which is only one of the crises that appear to threaten tourism and the economy in the near future. The conflict is exacerbating already high oil prices and general inflation and disrupting international supply chains. The tense economic situation is already felt today, the cost of living and the prices of fuels and energy products are rising. How will the worsening of the energy crisis affect tourist flows and the movement and behavior of tourists? Given the security situation and the war in Ukraine, how will European tourists behave and how will more distant markets view Europe?
Experienced global experts from various fields will share their experiences in a round table on how to address the challenges of the future and how to build an even more resilient tourism.
