Hotel Kempinski Palace Portorož has been awarded the prestigious title Best MICE Hotel in Slovenia 2022 by World MICE Awards. This award is received in addition to the title of Best Hotel in the country 2022 for the 6th year in the row.
World MICE Awards aims to drive up standards within the MICE (meetings, industries, conferences and events sector) industry by rewarding the organisations that are leaders in their field. It was developed in reaction to overwhelming demand from the MICE sector for a programme that was fair and transparent; a programme with a mission to serve as the definitive benchmark of excellence, and help to foster a new era of growth, innovations and best practice on a global scale. World MICE Awards is the sister event of World Travel Awards which was launched in 1994 to celebrate excellence in travel and tourism.
Upon receiving the award, Kai Behrens, General Manager of the hotel, commented, “This award rewards the outstanding work of the entire hotel team and serves as a great recognition that our Kempinski Palace Portorož is not only the leading hotel, but also the best MICE hotel in the country and among the finest ones in the Adriatic region.” He added to this statement, “Considering we are primarily labelled a leisure hotel, wining an award related to the business travel and groups segment means a tremendous success for us, as it highlights that all the work we do in this segment is making a progress and will further assist us to reduce the seasonality of the seaside-located hotel.”
The luxury hotel is no stranger to international recognized awards and has been the recipient of numerous awards over the course of years such as Slovenia’s Leading Hotel by the World Trade Awards 2017-2022, Star Diamond Award in 2019and Meetings star as the Best Meetings & Congresses hotel in Slovenia for a number of years. Furthermore, the hotel’s fine dining ‘Sophia Restaurant ‘was recommended by the Michelin Guide 2020, 2021 and 2022 for its outstanding and creative cuisine. Furthermore the restaurant was awarded by Gault&Millau 15/20 highlighting the service excellence and sophisticated food.
