Friendly and attentive staff, a serene and relaxed ambience, an accommodating conference center with the new Above the city hall, sumptuous and diversified business lunches and newly renovated rooms, presenting the city of Ljubljana through a series of black-and-white photographs – all of this and more offered to you by the City Hotel Ljubljana, which has been rewriting its story since 2007.

The Ljubljana hotel with a long-established family tradition is still often referred to as the former “Turist hotel”, the memory of which is nowadays replaced with an air of freshness and hospitable professionality.

A complete renovation of the hotel’s older rooms began in 2015 and, as the marketing and sales director Tina Možina observes, “We draw inspiration for development from our history, as the family ownership and the presence of the hotel in the area from 1903 onwards directly link us with our capital. It was our intention to stress this bond with the hotel’s makeover and keep alive our tradition. In capturing the lesser known, hidden views of Ljubljana, meant to entertain, inspire and motivate our guests to explore the city, we collaborated with the acclaimed Ljubljana photographer Žiga Koritnik. The black-and-white photo wallpapers therefore clearly and proudly present our story, the story of the City within the City”.

On May 16th 2016, the City Hotel Ljubljana opened its doors and unveiled its novelties to its business partners.

The presentation began in the brand new Above the city hall, where guests could admire the magnificent views of the Ljubljana Castle and capture the moment on camera. After a short meet-and-greet, the guests were taken on a tour of the renovated rooms on one of the seven floors. The event continued in the CITY conference center, where guests were greeted by the hotel’s director Peter Sušnik. Later on, the friendly gathering carried on with fist-class culinary specialties, inspired by the Tastes of Ljubljana and accompanied by the marvelous duet Jaka Ahačevič and Gregor Ftičar.
