Also this year organised and hosted by the Cankarjev dom \u2013 CD Cultural and Congress Centre Ljubljana, the so called longest Slovenian bookshop taking place between the\u00a026th of November and the 1st of December.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most important Slovenian event dedicated to books and to the culture of reading, presents a selection of Slovenian publishers, including the most recent book editions. Alongside the varied and wide selection of more than 25,000 books presented, there are around 300 accompanying events.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cd-cc.si\/en\/congress-events-management\">In the halls of Cankarjev dom<\/a>\u00a0where the thematic open stages are held, visitors get to know the books and authors, as well as visit discussions on current topics that the presented books touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accompanying events include various lectures, book signings, awards, consultations, round tables, workshops, presentations, exhibitions, concerts, and stage performances. Rich in arts and culture, Prekmurje is bursting at the seems with literates that will be hosted at the\u00a0<strong>Writer\u2019s Stage<\/strong>. Besides Slovenian writers, there will be also a lot of international stars that will visit the Fair as part of the\u00a0<strong>In Focus<\/strong>\u00a0section. This year, instead of one country, rather writers from Europe as the whole will partake in the section.\u00a0<strong>Jack Harte<\/strong>\u00a0from Ireland,\u00a0<strong>V\u00e9ronique Olmi<\/strong>\u00a0from Ferance, and\u00a0<strong>Sibylle Berg<\/strong>\u00a0from Germany are just some of the world-wide known names arriving to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kongres-magazine.eu\/2019\/07\/ljubljana-mtlg-2019\/\"><strong>Ljubljana<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cankarjev dom, home to the CD Congress Centre Ljubljana \u2013 the venue and organizer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Slovenian Book Fair<\/strong>\u00a0is traditonal and the most established book festival in Slovenia tracing back its origins to\u00a0<strong>1972<\/strong>\u00a0when UNESCO with a slogan \u2018Books for All\u2019 declared the International Year of Books. From then on, a merely book exhibition with its aim to promote and sell newly released book editions has grown into the celebration of books, literacy, and reading. Thus, within the\u00a0<strong>46<\/strong>\u00a0years of its rich history, the fair has become the most important and biggest literature event in Slovenia annually hosting over\u00a0<strong>30,000<\/strong>\u00a0visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since&nbsp;<strong>1981<\/strong>, Cankarjev dom has served as its venue and since&nbsp;<strong>1993<\/strong>&nbsp;also as a co-organizer in conjunction with the Chamber of Book Publishing and Selling.
