Due to its specific role, CD has acquired the status of the country\u2019s cultural and scientific crossroads.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, CD hosted <strong>12 high-profile scientific meetings<\/strong>, most notably the <strong>21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Congress of the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM)<\/strong>, <strong>World Construction Forum (WCF)<\/strong>, the <strong>14<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0European Peritoneal Dialysis Meeting (EuroPD)<\/strong>, <strong>European\u00a0<em>Hospital and Healthcare Federation\u00a0<\/em>(HOPE Agora)<\/strong>, <strong>European Congress of Sports Medicine (EFSMA)<\/strong>, <strong>International Conference of the European Society for Vascular Medicine (ESVM-IUA-CEVF)<\/strong>. In 2019, within the context of scientific meetings, Cankarjev dom <strong>hosted around 7.200 participants from all over the world<\/strong>. This constitutes both a great responsibility and an exceptional opportunity for <strong>Slovenia&#8217;s growth in all scientific fields<\/strong>, and \u2013 with an estimated daily spend of <strong>494 EUR per participant per day <\/strong>\u2013 provides the destination with a <strong>significant financial boost<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to international meetings, major importance is placed on <strong>festivals and fairs that attract almost 80,000 visitors<\/strong> to Cankarjev dom. Among these, most noteworthy are the <strong>Third Age Festival<\/strong>, the <strong>Appeal of Wood<\/strong>, <strong>Mineralfest Ljubljana<\/strong>, the <strong>35<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Slovenian Book Fair<\/strong> and <strong>Mojedelo.com Careers Fair<\/strong>. Scientific and educational events, e.g. <strong>Positive Psychology Marathon<\/strong>, <strong>TedX <\/strong>and <strong>various daily conferences<\/strong> that draw a <strong>total of 10,000 visitors<\/strong>, are also of great significance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social and corporate events need to be organised with tact and flair. Although relatively brief, these gatherings should not fail to impress the guests. Throughout the year they bring a fair number of attendees to Cankarjev dom (up to 11,000 according to the revised estimate), especially towards the end of the year when <strong>social gatherings<\/strong> are traditionally held for business partners. All of the above provides just a brief insight into Cankarjev dom\u2019s calendar, <strong>a programme that complements CD\u2019s events and festivals of all artistic genres<\/strong> like a piece in the puzzle.
