Recently,\u00a0World\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0were announced at the gala event\u00a0in the city of Antwerp in Belgium.\u00a0Ana Ro\u0161 and Hi\u0161a Franko\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>ranked\u00a021st<\/strong>\u00a0in this prestigious list and\u00a0improved last year’s ranking for 17 places<\/strong>\u00a0(in 2019 Hi\u0161a Franko ranked 38th and a year before 48th).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story and philosophy of Hi\u0161a Franko that place it among the top 50 restaurants (the restaurant also boasts two Michelin stars) in the world are closely linked with the Poso\u010dje region, one of Slovenia\u2019s most majestic regions in the northwest. Ana Ro\u0161<\/a><\/strong> who is a true ambassador of Slovenian gastronomy \u2013 let us recall; in 2017 she was named world\u2019s best female chef and she is also the Ambassador of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation for Gastronomy Tourism \u2013 is known for innovative cuisine incorporated with the best that the local environment has to offer, setting new standards in national and international cuisine. She spreads the word of Slovenia and its gastronomy beyond borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occassion, World’s 50 Best restaurants wrote about Hi\u0161a Franko&Ana Ro\u0161:\u00a0“Endessly passionate about her country and its yet undiscovered culinary traditions, self-taught chef Ana Ro\u0161 creates seasonal menus inspired by the creativity and gastronomic instinct within postcard-perfect So\u010da Valley.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Danish restaurant Noma, run by chef Rene Redzepi, has been declared the best restaurant in the world. Geranium, another Danish restaurant was placed second. Third place went to Asador Etxebarri Restaurant in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2002, The World\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants has reflected the diversity of the world’s culinary landscape. Thanks to its panel of more than 1,000 culinary experts, as well as its structured and audited voting procedure, the annual list of the world’s finest restaurants provides a snapshot of some of the best destinations for unique culinary experiences, in addition to being a barometer for global gastronomic trends. Though the pandemic is not over yet, the organisers believe that \u201c50 Best\u2019s role in promoting restaurants and showcasing culinary talent is more important than ever,\u201d <\/em>and that \u201cthe presentation of The World\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants 2021, along with the accompanying list of those restaurants ranked from 51st to 100th, will also provide a diverse range of global destinations for diners hungry for a return to travelling, once it is safe to do so.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 list has been created from a combination of wider pre-pandemic experiences and, where possible, contemporary local updates, spanning the period from July 2019 through to March 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
