It is a unique intertwining of entrepreneurship and beekeeping, modern technology with the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, innovative approaches and traditions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building of the former&nbsp;school in Vi\u0161nja Gora, which overlooks the picturesque medieval square, became the first Slovenian house named after&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slovenia.info\/en\/world-bee-day-quiz\">the Carniolan bee<\/a><\/strong>. It tells the story of the Slovenian autochthonous and other most widespread bee species in the world. While the Carniolan&nbsp;queen bees&nbsp;were sent to the world by the ambitious Emil Rothsch\u00fctz from the nearby Podsmreka castle, his father, Dr. Filip Rothsch\u00fctz was the first to describe the Carniolan bee. The APILAB Centre of Innovative technologies ApiLab \u2013 the House of the Carniolan Bee has become&nbsp;<strong>an educational labyrinth<\/strong>, inspired by the bee world, and&nbsp;<strong>an entrepreneurial hub<\/strong>&nbsp;in the municipality of Ivan\u010dna Gorica and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visitor will be able to peek into the living\u00a0beehives of the Carniolan bees and with a help of digital tools learn about the work of the Rothsch\u00fctz family. One of the most exciting things will definitely be\u00a0<strong>the opportunity to\u00a0sleep in the hive \u2013\u00a0innovative accommodation units are\u00a0located in the\u00a0top floor of the house.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investment was led by the Municipality of Ivan\u010dna Gorica, and\u00a0co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The APILAB Centre of Innovative Technologies \u2013 the House of the Carniolan Bee\u00a0is the first experiental story about the\u00a0Carniolan Bee in Slovenia.
