The year 2022 was extremely dynamic and full of unexpected turns for Cankarjev dom. What we have in mind are all the out-of-the-box adaptations requiring skilful organizers to accommodate the ever-changing demands in managing events.\u00a0<\/em>However, this year is also marked by many events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A dynamic year in Cankarjev dom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cankarjev dom<\/a> <\/strong>hosted 25 high-profile meetings<\/strong>. The largest in terms of numbers was the 17th European Congress of Psychology<\/strong> organised in September, with attendance of nearly 1,000.  This came as no surprise \u2013 according to Boyack\u2019s analysis of all scientific journals\u2019 citations, Psychology is one of seven hub sciences<\/strong> (the others being: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine). Considering that psychological findings are being used by a wide array of practitioners from many different fields, the impact of psychology on other sciences is substantial and important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, Cankarjev dom was actively involved in the ECP 2022 Congress<\/strong> programme by offering a guided tour of its rooftop beehives<\/strong> and an explanation of the concept of urban beekeeping<\/strong> that has been a practice in this venue since 2011. The event attendees had the opportunity to marvel at a magnified bee model, the Apis mellifera carnica<\/em><\/strong>, an autochthonous Slovenian bee. During Expo in Dubai, the bee model was exhibited at the Slovenian Pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cankarjev dom is also\u00a0a strong promoter of profiling Slovenia as an appealing destination for international events<\/strong>. In 2022, Cankarjev dom has nominated\u00a06 exceptional individuals for congress ambassadors<\/strong>. The CD PCO team also showed some muscle and successfully implemented the\u00a0ICCA Venue International Business Workshop 22<\/strong>. Together with local partners, Cankarjev dom prepared a tailor-made programme for\u00a013 representatives of venues and 13 meeting planners coming from 13 countries<\/strong>. A highly compelling two-day workshop was designed to make the participants get the feel of Slovenia\u2019s meetings industry pulse \u2013 the attendees visited a selection of special venues and got a taste of the several authentic and unique experiences Ljubljana offers to event organisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 also promises a variety of events in Cankarjev dom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It looks good this year as well, as Cankarjev dom is in full swing as the host of many events<\/strong>. Just recently, Cankarjev dom hosted a roundtable titled Successful Women and Their Perception in the Media<\/strong><\/a>. From 29 January to 3 February 2023, Cankarjev dom hosted the 2023 European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry (EWCPS2023)<\/a><\/strong>, and the event list goes on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Vortex of Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Cankarjev dom is hosting an exhibition titled\u00a0‘In the Vortex of Change‘<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>The exhibition is a tremendous undertaking production-wise and may well be one of the most demanding ever held in Cankarjev dom\u2019s exhibition space. It will appeal to all generations with an interactive design and programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
