This year, Slovenia\u2019s exceptional wines earned one Platinum medal, 5 Gold medals, 99 Silver medals and 118 Bronze medals\u2014the highest number of medals ever achieved by Slovenian wineries at this prestigious event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Platinum medal was awarded to Miran Sirk of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bjana.si\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bjana<\/a><\/strong>, who continues to set new standards in the world of Slovenian sparkling wine. Not only is Sirk the first Slovenian winemaker to secure&nbsp;<strong>both a Gold and Platinum medal<\/strong>&nbsp;for Slovenian sparkling wine, but he also holds the record for the most Platinum medals among Slovenian winemakers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/klet-brda.si\/en\/wine-tasting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Klet Brda<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;has again captured the spotlight with two Gold medals, mirroring their success from last year. This year, they impressed judges with their white wines, with the&nbsp;<strong>Motnik Single Vineyard Rebula (2017)&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Quercus Pinot Gris (2023)&nbsp;<\/strong>each earning a Gold medal and a Value Wine label for wines priced under \u20ac15 that offer exceptional quality.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gregor Miku\u017e from&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/m-vina.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">M-Wines<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and Ga\u0161per \u010carman of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gasperwines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ga\u0161per Wines<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;also continued their impressive streak from last year.&nbsp;<strong>Miku\u017e\u2019s 2021 Extrem (aged Sauvignon)&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>\u010carman\u2019s 2021 Cabernet Franc<\/strong>&nbsp;both repeated their Gold-winning success from the previous vintage. Adding to the celebration,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kristancic.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kristan\u010di\u010d from Medana<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;secured a Gold medal for his red Pavo (2021), showcasing the depth and diversity of Slovenia\u2019s wine excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Decanter results underline\u00a0<strong>the growing global recognition of Slovenian wines<\/strong>, reflecting both the tradition and innovation driving the country&#8217;s winemaking industry.
