{"id":23602,"date":"2025-10-22T12:43:54","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T11:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.slovenia-convention.com\/?p=23602"},"modified":"2025-10-22T13:37:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T12:37:57","slug":"new-slovenian-congress-ambassadors-2025-connecting-knowledge-people-and-ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slovenia-convention.com\/sl\/new-slovenian-congress-ambassadors-2025-connecting-knowledge-people-and-ideas\/","title":{"rendered":"New Slovenian Congress Ambassadors 2025: Connecting Knowledge, People and Ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Ljubljana, 22 October 2025<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;\u2013 Yesterday evening, a ceremonial award presentation of the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Congress Ambassador Programme 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;took place at the&nbsp;<strong>Ljubljana Castle<\/strong>, honouring outstanding individuals whose professional achievements and international reputation contribute to the development of&nbsp;<strong>the professional and scientific meetings and events sector in Slovenia<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, organised by the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Convention Bureau (KUS)<\/strong>, was held with the financial support of the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Tourist Board (STO)<\/strong>, in cooperation with&nbsp;<strong>Ljubljana Tourism<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>destination clubs<\/strong>, and numerous partners from the professional community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Established in 2018, the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Congress Ambassador Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;continues the tradition of recognising individuals whose dedication and professional excellence strengthen Slovenia\u2019s position in the field of professional and scientific meetings and events. Over the years, it has grown into an important&nbsp;<strong>national initiative<\/strong>&nbsp;connecting Slovenian experts, researchers, doctors, academics, business leaders and other influential professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, the programme brings together&nbsp;<strong>more than one hundred congress ambassadors<\/strong>, acting as a bridge between Slovenian expertise and the global knowledge community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fredi Fontanot<\/strong>, Director of the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Convention Bureau<\/strong>, emphasised during the ceremony:&nbsp;<em>\u201cEach congress ambassador represents a story of knowledge, courage and vision. Your achievements prove that Slovenia may be small in size, but not in ambition. Through their work, the ambassadors strengthen Slovenia\u2019s reputation and, with their commitment and vision, help shape the country\u2019s future on the global stage. With collaboration and shared dedication, we are becoming internationally recognised as a land of knowledge, innovation, and creative solutions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing the Government of Slovenia,&nbsp;<strong>Ms Dubravka Kalin from the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport<\/strong>, underlined the strategic importance of the sector&nbsp;<em>\u201cThe professional and scientific meetings sector is not merely an economic driver, it is a catalyst for progress, knowledge exchange and international cooperation. The government will continue to support this field as a key part of Slovenia\u2019s development policy and global visibility.\u201d&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony concluded with a symbolic focus on&nbsp;<strong>partnership and sustainability<\/strong>. The event was conceptually designed and produced by&nbsp;<strong>Creative Pro Adriatic<\/strong>, which ensured a refined and contemporary execution of the evening. The awards, crafted by&nbsp;<strong>Roga\u0161ka Glassworks<\/strong>, reflect the values of&nbsp;<strong>knowledge, collaboration and excellence<\/strong>, carrying the message that every congress ambassador is also an&nbsp;<strong>ambassador of sustainable development and responsible cooperation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over seven years, the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Congress Ambassador Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;has become a well-established national initiative with measurable results.\u2028To date, more than&nbsp;<strong>one hundred ambassadors<\/strong>&nbsp;have contributed to the organisation of over&nbsp;<strong>two hundred international events<\/strong>, generating&nbsp;<strong>tens of thousands of overnight stays<\/strong>&nbsp;and significantly enhancing Slovenia\u2019s image as a&nbsp;<strong>destination of knowledge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the&nbsp;<strong>KONGOST study (Turistica, 2023)<\/strong>, the average expenditure of participants at professional and scientific events in Slovenia is&nbsp;<strong>3.3 times higher<\/strong>&nbsp;than that of leisure tourists, confirming the high added value of this sector for the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, the&nbsp;<strong>Slovenian Congress Ambassador Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;will continue to connect Slovenia\u2019s professional, scientific and business
