See what Chef de cuisine\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Jorg Zupan has in store for restaurant\u2019s guests and<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>experience\u00a0<\/strong><strong>a high-end bistro concept<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>at Atelje!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant named after <strong>Hinko Smrekar<\/strong> that was in the past synonymous with quality Slovenian and Mediterranean cuisine has been completely renovated exactly 30 years after its opening.<\/p>\n<p>It was completely reimaged, got a new name and a new kitchen team. Headed by <strong>Jorg Zupan<\/strong>, who became Hinko Smrekar\u2019s <strong>master chef<\/strong> in January 2016, the team is creating a new culinary experience with an imaginative and fresh menu.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of the new bistro concept came to life with the help of <strong>Mitja Bobnar<\/strong>, the architect that can take credit also for the exceptional and creative conference hall design at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.union-hotels.eu\/en\/hotel-lev\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hotel Lev<\/a> in Ljubljana<\/strong>. The idea of the new bistro concept came to life<\/p>\n<p>The renovation of the famous restaurant that served as a great venue for elegant business dinners as well as a great place to go to for all gourmets took several months. But it was worth the wait. The new Atelje definitely brings something fresh to Ljubljana\u2019s culinary offer.\u00a0<strong>Chef de cuisine\u00a0Jorg Zupan revealed to Kongres Magazine<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;In Atelje we are striving to achieve a relaxed and casual atmosphere for the guest. The place itself was renovated in a more \u00bbup to date\u00ab and casual style in order to reach a wider audience of guests, without forgetting the history and tradition of the building, the restaurant and its surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>A modern and fresh approach to cooking and service is being applied. The food is based on fresh and local ingredients with the emphasis on simplicity of techniques, yet great taste and balance of flavours, interesting taste combinations and respect for tradition as well. Our motto is to let the season of the ingredient guide us and that no dish is better than the sum of its raw parts.<\/p>\n<p>A considerably wide arrange of wine, spirits, some cocktails and a fresh approach to the fine art of coffee brewing also give a special note of uniqueness to the place.
