With 182 InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts open worldwide and more than 50 hotels in the global development pipeline, IHG continues to expand the brand\u2019s portfolio in the most sought-after destinations around the world. <strong>Opening in mid August 2017<\/strong>, the <strong>165-room property<\/strong> will operate under a management agreement with IHG, representing the continuation of a long-term partnership between the two companies.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the city centre, the new hotel is set to become an<strong> urban and architectural landmark of Ljubljana<\/strong>. Just a stroll away from shopping and business districts, as well as the main train station, it is also within <strong>easy walking distance to the picturesque Old Town<\/strong> quarter along the Ljubljanica riverbanks. Around this area a number of the main city sights are found, as well as many restaurants, shops and cafes, which contribute to the Ljubljana&#8217;s laid-back atmosphere and quality of life. <strong>Both congress centres and several special event venues can also be reached in less than 15 minutes on foot<\/strong>, which emphasizes one of Ljubljana&#8217;s most remarkable traits as a destination &#8211; the compactness of a city built to the human measure.<\/p>\n<p>The new hotel is to be <strong>the only 5-star property in the city<\/strong> and will feature, besides the comfortable accommodation, also a <strong>luxurious presidential suite<\/strong> boasting a jaccuzzi, sauna and a fireplace. Its <strong>meeting and event space will comprise one 355 sq m banquet hall accommodating up to 400 guests, and six board rooms<\/strong>. Guests will have the possibility to enjoy the hotel\u2019s state of the art leisure facilities including a swimming pool, spa and fitness zone. An <strong>exclusive\u00a0restaurant\u00a0on 20th floor<\/strong> with a consultant \u00a0<strong>Michelin-star Chef Alfredo Russo<\/strong> boasting grand\u00a0outdoor terrace is set to become one of the local culinary hotspots offering\u00a0<strong>panoramic views of Ljubljana<\/strong> from the\u00a0top.
