From 29<sup>th<\/sup> May to 2<sup>nd<\/sup> June 2017, more than <strong>500 scientists, engineers, and researchers\/policy makers<\/strong> working in the area of landslide technology, landslide disaster investigation and landslide remediation gatherED at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlf4.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">4<sup>th<\/sup> WLF<\/a><\/strong>, to share their work with others. The event, jointly organized by the International Consortium on Landslides (Kyoto, Japan), the International Programme on Landslides (IPL), the University of Ljubljana and the Geological Survey of Slovenia presented more than <strong>400 presentation in 5-day varied programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The 4<sup>th<\/sup> WLF was\u00a0organized under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, <strong>H. E., Mr. Borut Pahor<\/strong> and chaired by <strong>prof. dr. Matja\u017e Miko\u0161<\/strong>, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering (University of Ljubljana), also the head of the UNESCO Chair for reducing the risk of water floods. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cd-cc.si\/en\/congresses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CD Congress Ljubljana<\/a><\/strong>, the largest congress centre in Slovenia hosted the official part of the event and one of the 4<sup>TH<\/sup> WLF locations included also <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ljubljanskigrad.si\/en\/the-ljubljana-castle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ljubljana Castle<\/a><\/strong>, a medieval fortress located right above the city centre and one of Ljubljana\u2019s most visited tourist attractions. The castle\u00a0hosted\u00a0the <strong>dinner banquet<\/strong> on the second day of the forum.
