The Slovenian – Chinese Economic Forum took place from 9 to 10 November 2015 in Maribor at the conference hall of the Habakuk Hotel.

Next to more than 110 Slovenian entrepreneurs, the forum attracted also more than 60-member Chinese delegation, which consisted of economic and political representatives of the cities: Shanghai, Huai’an, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Chongqing and Fuzhou province and the province of Shangdong, as well as representatives of China Development Bank (CDB) and Invest in Shanghai.

Forum was held for two days. The first day was mainly time for presentations. After the greeting of the Mayor of Maribor, Mr. Andrej Frištavec, the adviser of the Mayor, Marko Kovačič pointed out that the Slovenian-Chinese forum within the project Invest in Maribor – Welcome to Slovenia, was the platform for the completion of transactions between Maribor and China, which will take place by the end of the year or next year. He also emphasized the importance of promoting and linking the Chinese delegates at the conference with Slovenian entrepreneurs within two days of nonstop business discussions.

Hotel Habakuk is situated in a natural setting beneath the wooded Pohorje plateau in Slovenia.
