The Bažato Gallery in Ljubljana opened its doors recently, thus enriching cultural life in the region. The building, dating to the sixties, was extensively renovated under the watchful eye of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia. Its original architect was Savin Sever, one of the most renowned architects of Slovenian post-war architecture.
With a new lease on life, the building, home to the Bažato Gallery, showcases works of artists through their creative process, presenting them as authors and displaying their personal perception of the world. The gallery strives to become the centre of contemporary artistic practices by presenting inspiring domestic and foreign artists complimented by a well-thought-out and ambitious program.
The Bažato Gallery program is conducted as a set of solo, group, summary and thematical exhibitions, including production in various artistic approaches, in step with time and open for interdisciplinary media.
