Some of Slovenian finest culinary products are being presented during the »Slovenian culinary weeks« at renowned department store KaDeWe in Berlin. The event is held under the patronage of the Spirit Slovenia, Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Slovenian Embassy in Berlin.
In the period from 7th to 19th September, 2015 Berliners are able to enjoy Slovenian honey, salt, pumpkin seed oil, the Kranjska sausage, wines and other delicious products. The main purpose of these two weeks is to promote chosen Slovenian trademarks, increase the visibility of the Slovenian food processing industry, tourism and other business sectors. Slovenian products might become part of the department store’s regular stock.
The idea for the KaDeWe campaign came from the Slovenian Embassy in Berlin and was organized in cooperation with Spirit Slovenia. As stated in a press release by the Slovenian Embassy in Berlin, KaDeWe’s deli is famous for its fine selection of food from all around the world.
“Last year, Slovenia’s trade with Germany surpassed for the first time ever EUR 10bn. However, there is still a lot of potential, especially in food and quality wines.” Ambassador Marta Kos Marko said.
Similar campaign was organized earlier this year in Spar grocery stores across Austria, and another one is also in plan for Italy.*
You are kindly invited to taste Slovenian culinary delights!
*Presentation and discussion of 7 Slovenian companies in the central commercial chain SPAR Austria in Salzburg was organized by SPIRIT Slovenia in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Vienna and Honorary Consulate of Slovenia in Salzburg.
