GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre annually organises, executes, and hosts the Natour Alpe-Adria, the main Slovenian tourist fair promoting green and active tourism. The international fair, which will in the upcoming edition celebrate its incredible 30 years of tradition, enables exhibitors to hold business meetings with travel organizers, tourist agencies, potential investors, representatives of interest groups, etc.

This year’s slogan »Jump into nature!« invites travelers, athletes, mounatineers, hikers, runners, cyclists, lovers of adrenaline sports in nature, and, this year particularly, aficionados of camping and caravaning. Along the fair, a programme full of interesting and entertaining events is being prepared: round tables, presentations, travelogues for a wide audience, as well as conferences and discussions for the professional public.

Active vacation in nature will be presented by many Slovenian organizations, such as the Slovenian Tourist Board and the Tourist Association of Slovenia with over 150 local communities and associations, as well as some foreign destinations.

The fair will also present the Jakob Award for quality and excellence in tourism in the Alpe Adria region. Every year, an international committee selects, in accordance with agreed criteria, the best candidate who contributes a significant part into the mosaic on innovative endeavours in tourism industry in the Alps-Adriatic region. In 2019 it will be presented for the 9th time and it will be granted for a realised touristic project related to the topic: “New Sustainable Hunting, Fishing and Wildlife Observation Tourism Forms.”

The 30th anniversary of the main tourist fair in Slovenia is a beautiful jubilee, which, in the light of the 65th anniversary of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre which will be also celebrated in 2019, preserves the importance of fair activity in the capital of Ljubljana. Particularly in light of the fact that on the same days there will be another set of fairs taking place in the GR’s halls – the 13th Fairs of Tastes GASTexpo.

Through Fairs of Tastes, Slovenia and its capital are re-affirming their position as an innovative and trendy culinary destination of Europe that adds to the value of hosted meetings and events. About 500 domestic and foreign exhibitors from more than 20 countries upgrade visitors’ knowledge by presenting the latest trends in gastronomy and technological innovations. Around 15,000 visitors visit this event every year.
