Our regions
Because Slovenia is incredibly diverse, each of its regions has its own character. To start you on your voyage of discovery, we have divided it into five distinct areas. Charming
Ljubljana, the capital and the centre of Slovenian life,
northwest Slovenia with its high Alps and picturesque scenery,
western Slovenia, a very diverse region of coastal resorts, Venetian harbour towns, underground mysteries, vineyards and the emerald-green Soča river,
southern Slovenia with the magical underworld of Postojna, castles, monasteries, forests and spas, and last but not least
northeast Slovenia with Maribor, Slovenia’s second city, historic towns, health resorts and rolling hills.
