When international associations choose to return to the same venue, it’s more than a compliment – it’s a clear sign of trust and excellence. In 2026, several major international congresses are once again choosing Cankarjev dom – Slovenia’s leading congress centre – as their meeting point.
Among the returning international events, the year begins with the ESC Preventive Cardiology Congress (23–25 April 2026), the annual meeting of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology. Following a record-breaking EuroPrevent congress hosted at Cankarjev dom in 2018, the event expects more than 1,500 delegates, focusing on real-world and next-generation strategies in cardiovascular prevention.
From 7–11 June 2026, THERMAG XI (2026) – the 11th IIR International Conference on Solid-State Cooling, Heating, and Energy Harvesting – will bring together around 300 leading researchers in advanced materials and energy-efficient technologies.
Concluding the year’s series of returning congresses, the 31st International Conference of the International Committee on Food Microbiology and Hygiene (FOODMicro2026) will take place 7–10 September 2026, gathering around 400 global experts to explore hygiene as the cornerstone of food safety and sustainability.
