In 2025, Ljubljana once again shone as a lively and inspiring destination for international meetings and events, bringing together people and ideas through gatherings that championed innovation, collaboration, and creativity. Some of the year’s most remarkable events included:
- IDO World Hip Hop Championship, (October 25 – November 1, 2025) welcomed approximately 5100 dancers, team members, and visitors;
- World Robotics Olympics, (6–9 September 2025), gathered around 900 participants from all over the world. This inspiring event highlights the importance of science, technology, and innovation among youth;
- Global Hearth Summit (17–20 June 2025), brought together professionals and changemakers from around the world, focused on social innovation and positive transformation.
In 2026, the city will host:
- Urban Future Conference (24–27 March 2026), which is expected to bring together around 2,000 urban professionals, city leaders, and change-makers;
- ESC Preventive Cardiology 2026 (23–25 April 2026), the European Society of Cardiology congress on the theme of preventive cardiology, with approximately 1,500 participants from around the world; and
- Aquaculture Europe 2026 Conference (28 September – 1 October 2026), the annual meeting of the European Aquaculture Society, with around 1,000 participants.

At the Conventa Crossover festival Best Event Awards 2025, Ljubljana Tourism was presented with the Best Pop-Up Event (B2B) award for Ljubljana Food Crawl: A Journey of Flavours, Culture & Stories!
Originally created for the Virtuoso Chairman’s Event 2024, the Food Crawl brought over 130 global luxury travel leaders to experience Ljubljana in a unique way – blending culinary delights, architecture, and storytelling into one seamless city journey. From
local delicacies to authentic encounters, every step showcased Ljubljana as a top boutique destination.
New Partnership with DoubleTree by Hilton
We are also happy to announce that Austria Trend Hotel Ljubljana has entered into a new franchise partnership with the international Hilton chain. As of December 2, 2025, the hotel will begin operating under the DoubleTree by Hilton Ljubljana brand, becoming the first Hilton international chain hotel in Ljubljana and Slovenia. A very positive piece of news for the entire destination!
