BEST Ljubljana hosted the EBEC Alpe-Adria, a regional level of the biggest European Engineering Competition for students, developed by Board of European Students of Technology from 12th – 15th May at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) consists of 3 levels: local, national/regional and final. In every EBEC competition students compete in one of two categories: Case Study or Team Design. Case Study participants have to provide a solution to a specific real-life technical or management problem, while at Team Design they have to provide a working prototype with limited access to tools and materials.

The location of the competition was for the first time the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. During four-day event, Ljubljana hosted 40 local and international students, first day was reserved for opening ceremony, second and third day for competition and last day for awards ceremony closure event.

The winners of 88 local rounds progress to national/regional rounds, one of which is EBEC Alpe-Adria and it gathered winners from Erlangen, Graz, Ljubljana, Maribor and Zagreb. National/regional round winners, 120 best engineering students of Europe, will compete in the final round held in Belgrade, Serbia in August.
