Cankarjev dom, Slovenia’s main cultural and congress centre, enjoys a strategic position in the heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital and a rapidly growing congress and tourist destination. Standing at the forefront of event hosting, Cankarjev dom’s Congress & Events Department annually organizes around 170 events, including domestic and international congresses, symposia, seminars, fairs, and prestigious gatherings like state ceremonies, academic events, and social dances.
2024 has been an exceptionally vibrant congress year for Cankarjev dom, with autumn featuring notable events such as the 23rd Third Age Festival, the largest event of its kind in this part of Europe, and the MojeDelo.si Careers Fair, each attracting approximately 15,000 visitors. Each year, Cankarjev dom also hosts the Slovenian Wine Festival, offering attendees a chance to explore local and international wines through exhibitions and guided tastings. This upcoming December brings the 14th Central European Congress of Rheumatology, a platform for discussing the latest developments and challenges in this field.
Looking forward to 2025, Cankarjev dom is preparing for a lineup of events focused on social and environmental awareness. Among these, mention should be made of the Hearth Summit 2025, bringing together over 1200 leaders from around the world to explore human wellbeing and social change. Inspired by the hearth—a place of warmth and connection—this summit will further solidify Cankarjev dom’s reputation as a hub for creativity, dialogue, and social cohesion. Following a celebrated debut in Bilbao in 2022 and a series of regional gatherings, this four-day global summit will address burning global issues, including climate change, inequality, and social justice, shaping a hopeful vision for the future.
