Ljubljana took centre stage at Conventa, one of Europe’s leading meetings industry events, which this year unfolded across ten carefully selected venues in the city centre, highlighting the capital’s diverse and inspiring event offer.

The city was honoured with the prestigious Meetings Star Award (Congress Star), reaffirming its position as a top congress destination. Ranking second among 32 destinations able to host up to 2,000 delegates, Ljubljana achieved its highest score to date (4.55/5), missing the top spot by just 0.01 points.

A standout moment of this year’s Conventa was the recognition of MSc. Petra Stušek, CEO of Ljubljana Tourism, who was inducted into the Conventa Hall of Fame. The award acknowledges her visionary leadership, strong international presence, and long-term contribution to the development and global positioning of Ljubljana as a leading meetings destination.

Ljubljana’s continued success is the result of a strategic and collaborative approach, bringing together key stakeholders through the Ljubljana Convention Bureau. Its global relevance is further reflected in its strong positioning on the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) rankings, where it ranks among the top congress destinations worldwide.
