Slovenia Successfully Hosted the LCC General Assembly 2017

Portorož, the most luxurious Slovenian coastal town, just hosted the most important event of one of the leading networks of travel agencies for luxury travel – the annual Lufthansa City Center General Assembly.

The event, that was held from 2 November until 5 November,  took place in Slovenia for the first time, and it was hosted by the Slovenian Tourism Board (STO) and the Portorož Tourist Association (Turistično združenje Portorož).

The annual Lufthansa City Center (LCC) travel franchise network’s event featured a number of events for more than 400 gathered tourism business participants from 70 countries. The assembled representatives of companies from the tourism industry, and mainly owners and directors of German, European, and global tourism companies also traveled across Slovenia.

By hosting this event, Slovenia once again proved its position as the important European tourist destination among tourism business professionals. Even more, Slovenia continues to successfully run as a candidate for hosting events of renowned international tourist associations. Last but not least, the event is an excellent opportunity for increasing recognition of Slovenia as a »hospitable, green, active and healthy destination for five-star experiences and as a land for top-quality congress and business meetings,« emphasizes Maja Pak, the director of STO.

This was the second time that LCC network chose Slovenia as a destination to carry out an important event for its members. In 2016, the representative and agents of LCC network gathered for the annual regional meeting. The Slovenian CVB’s active member Kompas DMC prepared several points in region where participants were able to taste, explore and learn more about Slovenian culture and culinary delights. As a cherry on top, Kompas DMC received precious award for one of the most active agencies within the Lufthansa City Center.
