GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted a renowned regional event.

Between 25 and 26 October, GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the eighth edition of Adria Security Summit, a conference and trade show organised by Sarajevo-based Global Security company. This year, more than 3,000 participants from 43 countries attended. The event is hosted by a different regional country every year. This was the second time GR hosted the prominent event.

Adria Security Summit is an annual conference and trade show connecting experts from commercial security, cyber security, IoT, ICT, smart solutions, automatisation and mobility.

The venue’s Glass Hall and Kupola Hall hosted the exhibition of the Adria Security Summit, where 149 companies presented their services. Marmorna Hall played host to the conference part of the event concurrently. 50 esteemed speakers, who discussed the latest trends in security, were guided by two experienced moderators. A superb technical team ensured the event ran smoothly. A part of the programme included 4 roundtable discussions, 10 case studies and 10 presentations of start-ups, where up-and-coming projects presented their future vision.

Pre-scheduled meetings thanks to the B2Match platform

The organisers elevated the classic B2C trade show by offering attendees the opportunity to matchmaking in advance via the B2Match platform. Meetings could also be scheduled on-site. The event thus fostered personal business meetings between exhibitors and attendees and offered a chance for classic networking.

The event is of significant importance for the GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre and the city of Ljubljana, which enabled participants to use public transport free of charge.

We talked to Mahir Hodžić, the Director of Global Security and the head organiser of the event, about the advantages of Ljubljana as a meeting destination and the benefits of hosting an event at GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Q1: What are the advantages of organising such a complex event at the GR? Why did you choose GR as the venue?

Our decision to host this intricate event at the GR Ljubljana Exhibition Center is grounded in thorough research and strategic deliberation. After experiencing resounding success with our previous event in Zagreb and witnessing a surge in both exhibitor participation and the complexity of our conference program, we found ourselves in need of a substantial 5,000 square meters of event space. The GR Ljubljana Center emerged as the undisputed choice that could impeccably cater to our multifaceted requirements under the current circumstances. Its capabilities and facilities align perfectly with the grandeur of our vision.

Q2: Would you recommend Ljubljana as a destination for similar events to other organisers? Why?

Ljubljana, situated in the heart of Europe and surrounded by influential neighbours like Austria, Italy, Croatia, and other EU states, radiates economic prosperity. Its strategic location within one of the world’s most robust economic regions makes it a compelling choice for event organisers. Ljubljana’s impeccable organisation and provision of essential amenities create an environment where both conference attendees and trade fair visitors can thrive. As dedicated organisers who prioritise client satisfaction, we wholeheartedly endorse Ljubljana as an exemplary event destination. However, it is worth noting that the city’s hotel infrastructure may need to expand to accommodate the burgeoning demand for congress tourism, potentially through concessions, partnerships, or the sale of rights to existing or new fairgrounds.

Q3: What are the most positive results of the 8th edition of the Adria Security Summit?

The 8th edition of the Adria Security Summit exceeded our expectations on multiple fronts. Notably, we witnessed a substantial increase in attendance and a diverse program that resonated positively with our visitors and exhibitors. The happiness and satisfaction of our attendees and sponsors are pivotal factors for the success of any event, and we were thrilled to observe this crucial aspect flourishing. The smiles, the enthusiastic interactions, and the seamless communication with our visitors were a testament to the fulfilment of our hopes and predictions. Furthermore, beyond the attendees’ satisfaction, we take immense pride in the flawless execution of all technical aspects of event organisation. The cohesion within our organising team and the impeccable handling of technical details by our 30-plus subcontractors and equipment suppliers played a pivotal role in ensuring the resounding success of the event. Their unwavering commitment to our cause deserves our heartfelt appreciation.
