Just over two years after opening, the InterContinental Ljubljana exceeds all expectations, and plans for the future are promising in both the MICE and leisure segments.
Trends in tourism indicate an increase in the number of tourists in Slovenia and in Ljubljana as well as luxury guests who want something more when traveling. For over two years now, the InterContinental has been striving to elevate luxury tourism in Ljubljana to an even higher level while offering guests a complete experience at the highest level.
“All the data and awards we have received show how well the hotel operates. We are pioneers of modern luxury tourism in Ljubljana and we want to show other investors that this business is worth investing in. People are very afraid of investing in tourism, especially luxury tourism. I believe that every hotel must have its own identity, its own concept,” says hotel general manager Miloš Cerović.
In 2019, InterContinental Ljubljana was awarded as the most efficient hotel in the region of Southern Europe featuring top business results. In addition, InterContinental Ljubljana is among the top IHG Group hotels in terms of business results and guest satisfaction last year.
“Even in the MICE segment, international brand recognition is key to putting the Slovenian capital on the world map of MICE destinations,” says Janette Škorc, Head of Convention Sales.
Together with the Slovenian Convention Bureau, they strive to make Ljubljana and Slovenia as interesting as possible and attract even more MICE guests in 2020. Opportunities for further development of the destination are open in all areas of tourism. At InterContinental Ljubljana they believe that Slovenia can be among the top destinations for MICE travel.
