Cankarjev dom Cultural and Congress Centre is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2020.
Uršula Cetinski, CD Director General, comments: “Cankarjev dom has left a deep mark on the past four decades, influencing the life of our community, and enhancing our individual experiences with arts, as well as congress, social and protocol events. It served as the venue for pivotal moments in history that have radically affected both social order and our mode of living. Over the last forty years, Cankarjev dom has mirrored the entire world.”
CD Cultural and Congress Centre has started the celebrations by putting on display the old technical equipment used in theatre performances and large international conferences. This pop-up exhibition with a daring title Vintage CD looks back in time to demonstrate how big productions, including conferences and congresses organised at Cankarjev dom, have been implemented and flawlessly supported for the past 40 years. It offers an impressive insight into the inner workings of large-scale events – how challenging productions and conventions were brought to life and kept smoothly operating in a venue that comprises 22 multifunctional halls and rooms on staggering 36,000 square meters that can accommodate 5000 visitors.
The Vintage CD exhibition, on show until 5 February 2020, is certainly worth a visit. What’s more, Vintage CD provided a perfect background for Conventa Welcome Reception as a showcase of the technological magic that over the past 4 decades has been vital to Cankarjev dom’s success in superbly executing meetings and events.
