Dragon’s Ball Overlooking Pink Colored Castle at the InterContinental Ljubljana

The official fifth Pink Week Slovenia took place from 23rd to 27th May 2018 with a series of exclusive new travel packages and a brand new theme: ‘Hidden Corners of Slovenia’. Participants visited Lipica, the enchanting country of Lipizzan horses, tasted the culinary delights of Slovenia and Ljubljana, dined in secret locations and met intriguing people.

The annual Pink Week celebration has played a vital role in transforming Slovenia (the only country with ‘love’ in its name) into one of Europe’s leading LGBT plus destinations and has helped put Slovenian LGBT plus tourism offering on the map.

InterContinental Ljubljana with central location overlooking the pink colored Ljubljana Castle, served as a perfect venue for this year’s Dragon’s Ball, starting with a gala dinner and followed by a vivid party. For this special gastronomic occasion, Executive Chef of InterContinental Ljubljana Komnen Bakić cooperated with Slovenian ethnologist Dr. Janez Bogataj and in synergy they have created the menu ”Tastes of Lovers” in order to recapture traditional Ljubljana’s cuisine prepared in a modern way.

Organisers from Imperial Luxury Slovenia, Matej Knific & Mattej Valencic summerized, “We are pleased that together with the joint engagement of all partners, the Slovenian Tourist Board and Ljubljana Tourism, we organised Pink Week for the fifth year. This significantly contributes to the international recognition of Slovenia as a modern and tolerant country, making it one of the most progressive tourism destinations.”
