From 3 to 5 July, Slovenian Convention Bureau with the help of Slovenian meeting providers and SPIRIT Slovenia organized a yearly fam trip for 33 meeting planners eager to discover the best meeting and incentive sights Slovenia has to offer.
Meeting planners coming from 9 different countries were joined by representatives of Slovenian meeting providers from Union Hotels, Sava Tourism, Tourism Bohinj, Best Western Premier Hotel Slon, LifeClass Hotels & Spa and Bernardin Hotels & Resorts. The programme of the fam trip was carefully prepared by Slovenian Convention Bureau in cooperation with Intours DMC Slovenia and was designed in a way to show Slovenia at its best. Meeting planners were therefore able to see the diversity of the meetings offer and over three days experience the main meetings destinations in three geographic and climate regions such as Ljubljana, Portorose – Piran and Bled.
On the first day, the clients visited Brdo Estate and experienced the Adriatic Coast where they enjoyed an unforgettable wine tasting in Izola, went on hotel inspections of LifeClass Hotels & Spa and Bernardin Hotels & Resorts and in the evening headed to the picturesque city of Piran by multibikes. Guests enjoyed dinner by the magnificent sunset at Piran pier, prepared by the first lady of Slovene cuisine, chef Ana Ros from Hisa Franko. After the well-deserved rest in Kempinski Palace Portoroz, they visited the capital city of Ljubljana. The city that was named the European Green Capital 2016 impressed the guest in many ways. An active exploration included a boat cruise on the Ljubljanica River and a city bike tour. Culinary feasts prepared in As Restaurant and Spajza Restaurant were just the icing on the cake. Guests spent the night in Grand Hotel Union and Best Western Premier Hotel Slon and the next day continued their trip with the visit of the fairytale city of Bled. There they visited the lovely Bled Island and dined at Grand Hotel Toplice where just before departing to the airport, they exchanged their thoughts and opinions.
Sophie Plompen from Travel Experts, Belgium, said: “I was pleasantly surprised about all Slovenia has got to offer. It’s a great destination, not only for incentives, but also for families with kids or anyone else who wants to enjoy a really nice country.”
Nicole Hennrich and Edith Raab from SMS SIEMAG Process Technologies GmbH, Austria, added: “All of you can be proud how good you represent your lovely country sLOVEnia and how you enable your guests to see so much and the rich diversity of your country.”
Alexandra Herbrand from ImagePeople GmbH, Germany, simply concluded: “Everything was perfect!”
The fam trip was not just educational but was also a pleasant experience for all involved. It took just 2 and a half days for the 33 hosted buyers coming from 9 different European countries to fell in LOVE with SLOVEnia, understand its meetings potential and now present it to their clients in the best way they can – through personal experience.
