Kranjska Gora and Planica are the places to be in March. 3 – 4 March, Vitranc Cup takes place in Kranjska Gora and Planica features the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Finals 22 – 25 March (Thursday through Sunday). A great opportunity to experience the Slovenian’s unique sport spirit!
Already traditionally, world’s best skiers meet in Kranjska Gora first weekend in March, attracting over 12,000 spectators. The event is a perfect mixture of race and fun. Vitranc Cup is accompanied with a number of events, such as the party in the centre of Kranjska Gora on Saturday night.
Another event in the area, which is surely not to miss, is the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Finals in Planica, the world’s most famous ski flying jump. This year, the finals will take place 22 – 25 March (Thursday through Sunday) in Planica. A great number of visitors will come to Slovenia to see this Nordic spectacle in person. Already the atmosphere itself is amazing, the sports spirit that Slovenes hold in their veins, is as breathtaking as the view of the ski jumpers flying over 200 metres. What is special about Planica is also the fact that it amazes the visitors with surprising, often also record results. Planica, which is considered the Slovenian cradle of ski jumping and flying invites you throughout the year. Recently, the Nordic Centre has been built, which opened a number of options for spending active holidays in the area.
