HOPE, the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation, is a European non-profit organisation, created in 1966. With 37 organisations from the 28 Member States of the European Union, Switzerland and the Republic of Serbia, HOPE Agora 2019 international conference, held between 2 and 4 June at the CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, was one of the most important meetings in this field in 2019 in Slovenia.
Simon Vrhunec, HOPE Governor for Slovenia, comments: “HOPE’s mission is to promote improvements in the health of citizens and a uniformly high quality of hospital care by EU standards, fostering efficiency, effectiveness and humanity in the organisation and operations of hospital and health services. This year’s conference focused on sharing and comparing different approaches to decision-making in healthcare, employed by managers, researchers, decision-makers, patients and other stakeholders.”
A rising star in the congress organising profession (and ICCA scale), Ljubljana as a conference host is a city of open-hearted, genuine people, offering numerous attractions to be explored or included in a meeting’s agenda: the majestic Ljubljana castle, the emerald Ljubljanica River, various cultural festivals, and the splendid Art Nouveau buildings designed by world-renown architect Jože Plečnik, to name just a few. Ljubljana is also an excellent starting point to explore the country. With HOPE Agora 2019 CD Congress Centre Ljubljana has successfully finished the 2018-19 season. A new one is just around the corner, beginning with 1st September when the first meetings entrusted to this venue are scheduled.
