Two new 4* sustainable studios on the top floor of the Na Stolbi building, adjacent to the funicular to Ljubljana Castle, offer luxurious accommodation to visiting artists and travellers. Bookings are available on Booking.com from 1 August 2023.

Two new 4*studios have been completed on the top floor of the Na Stolbi building, along the funicular to Ljubljana Castle. The Ljubljana Castle Public Institution, which also manages Celica Hostel, manages the building, while the City of Ljubljana made this project possible.

Situated on Stolba 8, where a previously abandoned and partly demolished two-storey building owned by the Municipality of Ljubljana once stood, the site has been revitalized with a new, technologically modern, and sustainable structure designed by the Ambient architects. The ground floor now serves as part of the administrative premises while the upper floor houses the recently completed studios, catering to both visiting artists and travellers.

Reflecting the sustainable vision shared by the city and the institution, the building is constructed using cross-glued wooden elements, renowned for their excellent insulation properties. Embracing modern, eco-friendly, low-energy solutions, the facility’s heating is cutting-edge, while the green roof, gently sloped, harmoniously blends into the landscape of the Ljubljana Castle Hill.

The studios are named after Frederick III and Eleonora of Portugal, key figures responsible for the mighty fortress, Ljubljana Castle, that during the late Middle Ages flourished atop the city’s hill. Each 53m2 studio provides a comfortable sleeping area, a cozy living room, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. What is more, a spacious terrace boasts splendid city views.
