The Premiere Meeting of the Slovenian Congress Ambassadors Program

In June, the Slovenian Convention Bureau together with partners premiered the Slovenian Ambassadors Program. The event was attended by representatives of a broad range of scientific and professional institutions, universities and chambers from across the country, as well as partners of the Slovenian Ambassadors Program. The meeting presented a case example of such a program in Serbia, followed by an interesting discussion and a workshop dealing with challenges surrounding the hosting and organization of international expert events.

The event took place at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana where Slovenian Convention Bureau with project partners presented the Slovenian Ambassadors Program. The invited guests have had an opportunity to meet the nominated congress ambassadors of Slovenia, valuable representatives of various scientific and professional institutions, universities and chambers from across the country.

This year, the Slovenian Convention Bureau started with the implementation of the national congress ambassadors program which plays an important role in Slovenia’s global position in the field of meetings and events industry. By establishing this project we want to attract a number of international scientific, professional and business events to Sloveniaand consequently generate more revenue. After many years of efforts, the Slovenian Convention Bureau managed to provide start-up funds provided by the Slovenian Tourist Board

Nominated congress ambassadors of Slovenia which are involved in the project are, as mentioned, representatives of a broad range of scientific and professional institutions, universities and chambers from across the country, who have an opportunity to obtain an international business event for Slovenia. The Slovenian Convention Bureau and the project partners have set the goal for this year to establish a long-term relationships with 20 to 30 congress ambassadors. The meeting presented a case example of such a program in Serbia, followed by an interesting discussion and a workshop dealing with challenges surrounding the hosting and organization of international expert events.

The Slovenian Congresss Ambasadors Program project was established and prepared in cooperation with the Ljubljana Convention Bureau, with support of the Slovenian Tourist Board and participating project partners – members of the Slovenian Convention Bureau.
