Conventa has been Connecting Meeting Planners for 12 Years in a Row

From 22 to 23 January 2020, Ljubljana will host the 12th edition of Conventa, the first business trade show in New Europe for business meetings, congresses and incentives. The success of the event, which is recognized in the world primarily for its top-notch boutique business experience with a personal touch, will this time delight with quite a few surpluses. This year a record number of 30 new exhibitors are coming to Conventa. Among them are the Convention Bureau of Bulgaria, Georgia, Thessaloniki, Lublin, Tallinn and Saalfelden, as well as other congress providers. We are also proud that Croatia Airlines have become the official carrier of the event.

Conventa thus remains the focal point for meeting planners in the region of New Europe, which, in addition to sharing knowledge and experience, emphasizes networking and establishing new business contacts. In recent years, the results of the hard work put into the project have been reflected in many areas.

More importantly, it is not just a business event, but a major meeting point for the New Europe meetings industry, characterized by energy, warmth, hospitality and a personal congress experience.”

We started developing them last year, and this year they came to life in their entirety. This way the Conventa brand is expanding its mission and maintaining its position as a central event for the meetings industry and is becoming a complete platform for event planners.”

Conventa is the only platform of its kind in the region and only a few events in the world offer such a comprehensive solution.

Conventa strives to reduce negative environmental impacts every year and considers various sustainable practices when organizing the event. The event is known for its sustainable stands, which organisers build from more than 3.200 wooden boxes each year.

Conventa will traditionally end with probably the most genuine personal experience for meeting planners. In addition to visiting Ljubljana, foreign hosted buyers will also be able to take study trips to Bled, Portorož, Kranjska Gora, Maribor-Pohorje, Graz and Zagreb, thus personally investigating the congress offer of these destinations.

This year Conventa will host 131 exhibitors from 16 different countries of New Europe, who will present their offer to 210 international event planners from 45 countries, 30 of which are regional and about 100 Slovenian event planners. To date, we have recorded more than 3.500 meetings between hosted buyers and exhibitors.
