The National Gallery of Slovenia is a space where visitors can look at some of the greatest Slovenian works of art. With renovations finished in 2016, Ljubljana also received a unique new venue for MICE events embraced by culture, an inspiring atmosphere where historical elegance fuses with modern meetings.

Large painting collection, beautiful architecture, enchanting surroundings

Slovenia’s National Gallery was established in 1918. It is housed in a monumental palace, mirroring the great artistry found inside. Black Woman, Summer, The Red Parasol, Woman Drinking CoffeeThe Sower, these are just some of the famous Slovenian paintings found in its permanent collection.

A milestone year was 2001, when construction finished on the connecting lobby designed by Sadar Vuga Arhitekti. The building now unites neoclassical and modern architecture into a delightful whole. The palace is found on one of Ljubljana’s most beautiful streets, in the company of the Slovenian National Theatre, the Ljubljana Opera and Ballet, the Museum of Contemporary Arts and the city’s green oasis – park Tivoli, another opportunity for special meetings. Overall, the site offers a distinctive atmosphere infused with history, giving an air of excellence to your event.

The National Gallery Palace, built in 1896, has traditionally been a house of social gatherings and is considered a Slovenian cultural monument. Locals even like to call it the lighthouse of Slovenian spirit since vibrant social life has been unravelling there throughout the decades. The interiors are impressive, entering the elegant space visitors are greeted by the original Robba Fountain sculpted by Francesco Robba, inspired by Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers. A replica Robba fountain now stands before the City Hall in Ljubljana, while the original is preserved here as a cultural monument of national importance.

Attention, atmosphere, impeccable service

Next to its standard exhibition space, the National Gallery offers four more halls suitable for a variety of events, each with its own distinctive traits. The Foyer offers lots of natural light and a refreshing view of the nearby Tivoli park. The Great Hall focuses on detail and historical atmosphere, making it perfect for classical concerts or festive events. The restored Golden Hall in the oldest wing of the National Gallery is synonymous with refinement, while the brand new Auditorium features cutting-edge equipment to suit highly demanding events.

Ambience surrounded by fine arts will take you on an engaging journey, while modern technology and highly professional staff make sure your event runs flawlessly. Inspiration, aesthetics and creativity never go out of style. Why not make the fine arts of Slovenia’s National Gallery the setting of your next meeting?
