Last week, the Slovenian Convention Bureau attended the prestigious business event C&IT Festival of Forums, held in York. The event attracted more than 50 buyers from the United Kingdom, making it a significant opportunity for showcasing Slovenia as a prime destination for meetings and events.
The C&IT Festival of Forums is renowned for bringing together industry professionals and experts from around the world. This year, Slovenia had the privilege of being part of this esteemed gathering for the second time, further solidifying its position as a top choice for business events.

During the three-day event, attendees had the opportunity to explore the best that York has to offer. The agenda was packed with insightful sessions, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities, ensuring that all participants gained valuable knowledge and insights to enhance their work in the industry.
Increasing interest in Slovenia in Great Britain
The presence of the Slovenian Convention Bureau at the C&IT Festival of Forums highlighted the country’s commitment to providing exceptional event planning services and promoting Slovenia as a prime destination for business events and incentives. At the business event, a representative of the Slovenian Convention Bureau conducted over 20 successful meetings with selected invited buyers from the United Kingdom who organize corporate meetings and incentive trips. Additionally, several meetings were held with association representatives. Some of them are already familiar with Slovenia and are planning new projects in our destination.
After two years of the pandemic and challenging circumstances related to Brexit, the interest in organizing business events in Slovenia is steadily increasing. The English market is of great importance to Slovenia for several reasons: it represents one of the most active segments of business travel, has high purchasing power, and there are multiple regular air connections between Ljubljana and the UK capital. Furthermore, Slovenia is appealing to potential English clients due to its sustainability aspect.
The successful participation of the Slovenian Convention Bureau at the C&IT Festival of Forums in York further strengthens the country’s position as a sought-after destination for business events.
