Slovenia once again proved its presence on the global business meetings scene last week with its participation in the C&IT Festival of Forums, which took place from 29-31 July 2024 in Bristol and Bath and attracted more than 50 buyers from across the UK.
It is a renowned business event of the C&IT media house, which brings together various experts and innovators from the global meetings and events industry every year. For the third time in a row, Slovenia was presented at the event as a destination with high potential for various events, meetings and incentive travel. In addition to the rich networking opportunities, this year a special focus was placed on the quality educational programme which was top-notch. The event offered an exceptional selection of speakers whose expertise and wealth of experience provided valuable insights and inspiration to participants. Graham MacVoy, co-founder and CEO of Wake The Tiger, shared his more than 20 years of experience in running successful businesses and large-scale events with his inspiring lecture “WAKE THE TIGER: HARNESSING CREATIVITY TO BUILD IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES”. Ellen Mutimer from Inntel presented “GREEN HORIZONS: OVERCOMING CHALLENGES TO CREATE SUCCESSFUL ESG EVENTS”. Ellen is a renowned ESG expert and has received numerous awards for her achievements in this field.
Slovenia was presented at the event under the auspices of the Slovenian Convention Bureau and with the financial support of the Slovenian Tourist Board as a destination with high potential for various business and professional events and incentive trips. A representative of the Slovenian Convention Bureau held more than 20 meetings with invited corporate and agency buyers from the UK and representatives of associations that recognise Slovenia as an attractive destination for their future events.

Invited clients had the opportunity to learn about business opportunities for organising events, meetings and motivational experiences in different Slovenian regions, their natural beauty and sustainable offer. Slovenia attracted a lot of attention with its green destinations and sustainable practices, which further strengthened its reputation as a great destination for business meetings. The combination of beautiful nature, rich cultural heritage and commitment to sustainable development created a strong impression on participants, who praised Slovenia as a unique and attractive location for their future events. This includes a wide range of options, from trade fair, conference and congress venues in the heart of nature to world-class hotels and unique incentive travel locations, making Slovenia an extremely attractive destination for various types of business and professional meetings.
The UK market remains a key market for Slovenia due to its high spending power and excellent air links between Ljubljana and London. The increased interest in Slovenia as a business destination is a pleasing sign, especially after the challenges of the pandemic and Brexit. This year Slovenia is also presenting itself at other important promotional events such as IMEX Frankfurt, IBTM World and IMEX America.
