To stay abreast of the newest developments in the meeting and event industry of Slovenia, Intours DMC shares its in-depth local knowledge and presents five novelties.
CARLSON REZIDOR COMING TO LJUBLJANA
In late 2015, the Plaza Hotel, located in Ljubljana’s most important shopping, entertainment and business district, will be re-branded to Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. Besides 236 guest rooms, the Plaza Hotel offers a modern and flexible congress centre, with a capacity of up to 320 delegates.
NEWLY OPENED HERBAL GLAMPING RESORT
In northern part of Slovenia, Herbal Glamping Resort opened its doors to an architecturally accomplished venue, carefully placed within the natural environment. The Glamping Resort features 10 glamping tents with two bedrooms and a bathroom respectively, a restaurant serving ecological dishes and an herbal garden, where herbal workshops can take place.
LONGEST ZIPLINE IN EUROPE
On the largest ski jumping hill of Planica, a new zipline was set up to give the participants the unique feeling of ski jumping. A breath-taking 520 meters descent with a height difference of 185 meters and a heart pounding speeds of 50 km/h leaves the guests with a pure adrenaline rush.
FOSSIL FUEL FREE DAY IN LJUBLJANA
To live up to the expectations of 2016 European Green Capital, Intours DMC invites groups to spend an active day in Ljubljana without using any fossil fuel. From the hotel, the guests can head for water activities on the Ljubljanica River. In this way the groups can discover the capital of Slovenia in an unconventional way – by a canoe, kayak or sup. After lunch at Druga violina restaurant, employing several people with special needs, the groups continue the fossil fuel free day on a bike ride around the Green Ring, a gravel-paved recreational footpath running around Ljubljana.
ECO RALLY
The eco rally promotes environmentally friendly modes of transport and is focused mainly on energy and fuel savings, environment protection and road safety. The rally challenges the participants to follow special driving techniques to finish the designated route, not first, but with the least amount of fuel consumed. After a professional introduction, the participants head off on voyage into the unknown with specially prepared roadbook to guide them to several checkpoints in the Slovenian countryside.
Plans were furthermore revealed to build a new Crowne Plaza hotel in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana.
