Wider Network of Flight Connections From Ljubljana Airport in the Summer Timetable

In the Summer Timetable 2019, which will be in effect from March 31 to October 26, passengers will be able to choose from more than 260 scheduled flights per week directly from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport to 27 destinations in 20 countries with 12 different airlines. Already a fourth connection with London will be established; British Airways will open a new route to London Heathrow in July. The offer of charter flights will also be rich, 21 charter connections are planned. 

The domestic airline Adria Airways will fly to 16 destinations: Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Manchester, Munich, Paris, Podgorica, Prague, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana, Vienna and Zürich. Additional flights will be added to the destinations of Munich, Zürich and Skopje.

Carrier Aeroflot is maintaining its new service from the winter schedule by continuing daily flights to Moscow, operated by a larger aircraft (instead of Sukhoi Superjet 100 it will fly with Airbus A320). Air France’s daily flights to Paris will be reinforced with additional frequencies and a larger aircraft in peak of the summer season. More flights compared to winter will be offered also by LOT Polish Airlines, which will add a flight on Sunday (altogether it will operate eight flights a week). Air Serbia will be flying from Ljubljana to Belgrade 14 times per week, Montenegro Airlines will operate three weekly flights to Podgorica. Turkish Airlines will fly twice daily to Istanbul, on April 6 it will relocate its operations to the new Istanbul Airport. After the winter break Finnair is returning to Brnik with five weekly flights to Helsinki. 

Low-cost airlines are maintaining the same extent of flights from Ljubljana. Transavia will be offering five weekly flights to Amsterdam. EasyJet will fly to Berlin three times per week, four times weekly to London Gatwick and ten times weekly to London Stansted. Passengers will be able to fly to the British capital also with Wizzair (four times weekly to London Luton), the Hungarian low-cost carrier will continue its operations two times a week to Brussels Charleroi.

British Airways with flights to Heathrow from July

In the peak of the summer season the offer of flights will be enriched by British Airways. From July 15 to September 2 they will be operating two weekly flights between London Heathrow and Ljubljana, on Mondays and Fridays. The attractive schedule will be connecting not only the two capitals, but will be opening the windows of Slovenia to the world. London Heathrow Airport is one of the world’s major airport hubs, with air connections throughout the world. At first planned Airbus 320 with 180 seats will on Monday’s flights be substituted with a larger Airbus 321 with 220 seats.

Wide offer of charter flights

For the Summer Timetable 2019 seven charter airlines have announced their flights. Together with travel agencies they will be offering 21 charter connections to popular tourist destinations in Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, Spain, Italy and Israel.

2018 a record year, traffic growth continues 

A record number of passengers (1.818.229) have passed through Ljubljana Airport in 2018. We surpassed the total number of passengers (1.688.558) who visited our airport in 2017 on November 25, 2018. The growth of traffic is continuing this year. Passenger numbers amounted to 209.661 over the first two months of 2019, which is an increase of 4.8 percent in comparison with the same period last year. The number of aircraft movements was up 5.3 percent and cargo tonnage was up 2.2%.
